Here's just a snapshot of the topics I've researched recently as a freelance writer.

šŸ“¦ Product management

🌐 Internet governance news

šŸ  Homelessness statistics

🧠 Intellectual property law

šŸ”Ø House construction materials

šŸ’» Cybersecurity trends

It can be intimidating to approach a new subject and quickly glean enough of an understanding to turn it into content.

But in my work, being an outsider can be a huge advantage.

I have fresh eyes and an unbiased approach to the subject. I won't fall immediately into using industry jargon because I don't know it. If the content is meant to be educational, my awareness level will be closer to that of the audience - so I'll be able to recognise what makes sense and what goes over my head.Ā

Sometimes the experts are the least equipped to write content on a topic if you want it to actually land with your audience. It's impossible to un-know what you know.

An outsider may be just what you need to strike the right balance.
